Stout Brownies

With my husband's affinity for beer, he found a website selling Stout Brownies. With a baker in the house, of course we weren't going to purchase stout brownies so I scoured the internet and finally found a recipe for stout brownies topped with Butterscotch Ale ganache.

I'm not a fan of dark beers, or beer flavored anything. But, these brownies are to die for!!! I don't like cakey brownies so these are perfect. I wouldn't even call them brownies-it is more of a butterscotch ale topped fudge. I cannot stop eating them and encourage you all to make them.

Summer Cupcake Pops

For whatever reason I have been against the 'Cupcake Pop' fad...until I saw this cute idea on My husband and I were having a BBQ and I took it upon myself to make it a summery-themed BBQ (despite the cold weather in southern California!). After making the pops I stuck them in a pink sand toy filled with sand and stuck it in the middle of the table to use as a centerpiece.

The cupcake filling was a lemon cake with strawberry cream cheese.

A Year in Review: What I've Been Eating

Similar to my previous post about the cards, I am doing the same with some good food I've been eating- either homemade or eating at unique places

Taylor and I went to the Food Truck Festival in LA County... we tried many trucks but the Grilled Cheese Truck is what I was most looking forward to! I got the stacked- Pulled Pork, Mac and Cheese Grilled Cheese...yup you heard me!

Moving to California has made me aware of many new twists on this one- Shaved Ice with Condensed Milk, I was scared to try it, but it wasn't too bad. Bubble gum, peach, and strawberry shaved ice...they also had a bunch of toppings you could put on there, including mochi balls

Serendipity in Las Vegas has unique food and gives free Chocolate Sundaes!

Eating a scone while doing school work at the Tranquil Tea Lounge in Fullerton. A vast variety of teas, great sandwhiches, and even greater scones! This was a passion fruit scone, but I've also had the white chocolate lavendar scone which I highly recommend!

Awhile back I made these cool rainbow layered cupcakes for my little brother and sister. The flavors aren't unique but the colors are!

Then decided to re-create this favorite for a class project, add polka-dot cupcake lines, purple frosting and some pearl accents

A Year in Review: My Favorite Cards

I've wanted to create a blog publishing the cards I've made for at least a year now. Unfortunately grad school...a.k.a. my life, seems to take priority above just about everything. Making cards and baking are two of my hobbies I use as an escape and stress reliever. My pile of cards has grown and my recipe box has expanded, but nothing was published to a blog..until now. Below are some of my favorite cards I have made in the past year or two that I would like to share. Some I made at StampinUp classes, others I have created on my own, adapted from many different stampin blogs I've visited. I do believe it is important to leave credit when it is due, but unfortunately I can't remember where I got ideas for everything. And, like I said, all my ideas-- be it crafts or food, are usually a compilation of a number of other people's creations. Again, I will not post extensive details about the cards but if you have a question just ask!
